General Shipping Information
DO YOU HAVE SOME GENERAL SHIPPING INFORMATION?
When you place an order, your credit card will be charged and your order will be moved from ‘New’ to ‘Processing’ status. All pre-orders are charged at the time the order is placed. In-stock orders normally ship within 1-2 business days unless otherwise noted. However, if an item is marked “This item ships separately” or during times of heavy order volume (especially November and December), orders normally ship within 3-5 business days of when they were placed. All shipping transit times quoted are business days (Monday-Friday), not calendar days.
For most domestic orders, you can choose between Fed Ex and UPS Ground, 2-Day, and Next Day deliveries. If your order ships via Fed Ex or UPS you will receive an email with a tracking number when your order ships. You will also be able to view your order status and tracking numbers in your account order history. If your order contains only small, light items, then you may also have the option to ship your order via USPS First Class Mail, which does not offer package tracking information.
If your order weighs less than 5 pounds it may be eligible for Economy Shipping. Economy Shipping calculates the most cost efficient way to get your package to your shipping address. Delivery using this method can take anywhere from 5-10 days. Note: Orders shipped via Economy Shipping may be delivered using UPS or the United States Postal Service and tracking information may not be available. If tracking information is available, it will be reflected on your shipping notification email. Additionally, orders shipped via Economy shipping cannot be rerouted after shipment.
Fed Ex and UPS Expedited (2-Day and Next Day) and Ground shipments are delivered Monday-Friday except on US Holidays.
For orders shipping outside the U.S., we provide Fed Ex, DHL Express and/or UPS shipping. Your package will usually arrive within 3-5 business days and will have full door-to-door tracking. You will receive the tracking number in your shipping confirmation e-mail. You will probably be charged import taxes and fees for your order by your local customs agency. Please check with your customs office if you are unsure of these fees.
DO YOU OFFER EXPEDITED SHIPPING?
Expedited shipping options are available for domestic orders. This includes Next Day and 2-Day shipping options. Orders must be placed before 1pm Pacific Time Monday-Thursday to receive expedited delivery in the time frame specified; and only if items are in stock. Expedited delivery orders received after 1pm Pacific Time or on Friday/Saturday/Sunday normally ship the next business day. Next Day Air Saturday delivery may also be available for US shipping addresses. This option is only available between 3pm Pacific on Thursdays and noon Pacific on Fridays and when chosen, your order should arrive on the Saturday after you place your order. Some orders may be subject to verification of billing/shipping information, and may be delayed because of this.
During times of heavy order volume, especially November and December, expedited shipments may take up to 3-5 business days to process and ship, and shipping dates cannot be guaranteed, so please plan accordingly. We will post estimated processing times on the checkout page.
If your Shipping address is a P.O. Box, we cannot deliver via Fed Ex and UPS, and your order will be shipped via US Postal Service Priority Mail. Some orders may be subject to verification of billing/shipping information, and may be delayed because of this. See the PO Boxes section below for more information.
DO YOU SHIP TO PO BOXES?
In most cases, yes. If your order weighs less than 70 pounds we should be able to send your order through the United States Postal Service. This shipping method does not include tracking.
We are not responsible for delays or mis-shipments when a P.O. Box address is used.
CAN YOU SHIP TO APO/FPO ADDRESSES?
We are able to ship most of our products to U.S. Military APO/FPO addresses. Some products cannot be shipped to APO/FPO addresses and those are marked on the product detail page with an Export Restriction notice. This notice reads “We cannot ship this item outside of the U.S.”
Unfortunately, we cannot supply tracking numbers for shipments to APO/FPO addresses. We send all shipments to APO/FPO addresses using the U.S. Postal Service.
When completing your Shipping Address during checkout, please make note of the following:
- The City must be entered as either “APO” or “FPO”
- The State must be selected as either “AA” “AE” or “AP”
- You must enter your Zip code
- Always remember to enter your full name, grade, and PSC or unit number
- Please note, orders shipped to an APO/FPO address take longer for delivery.
- Please allow 2-4 weeks for your package to arrive.
HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?
It depends on what you are ordering, how much you are ordering, and where it is shipping. You can determine the cost of shipping your order by adding the items you want to the shopping cart and entering your zip code or country in the Shipping Estimator on the cart page. You can also get the shipping cost during checkout – you will need to fill out your shipping address in order to view the shipping options and cost.
DO YOU SHIP OUTSIDE THE U.S.?
Yes! After placing items in your shopping cart, proceed to the checkout area. Complete the Shipping and Billing information, including selecting your country. If your country is not in our drop-down list, we are unable to ship orders to that country.
For orders to Canada, The United Kingdom and Australia, in addition to express shipping via Fed Ex, DHL and UPS, we offer Economy Shipping via local postal agencies. International Economy Shipping is available for smaller, lighter orders — less than approximately 4 pounds and totaling less than $100. Orders shipped using Economy Shipping may take up to 1-3 weeks for delivery and tracking is not available. Please note that orders shipped via Economy shipping cannot be rerouted after shipment.
For orders shipping outside of the US, Fed Ex, DHL and UPS Express Shipping are available. Fed Ex, DHL and UPS Express offer door-to-door tracking and packages normally arrive within about 3-5 business days after shipment.
WILL I HAVE TO PAY CUSTOMS FEES ON MY ORDER?
Orders shipped outside of the US will almost always be charged customs fees when they arrive. These fees may include taxes, duties, processing fees, brokerage fees, etc. Unfortunately, IDW Publishing has no control over the amount or assessment of these fees. If you are not familiar with the customs laws and fees in your country, please check with your local customs office for more information. Also, because we are a retail store, we are NOT able to mark orders as ‘Gifts’ for customers to avoid paying these fees. Please see our special page on International Shipping (link) for more information.
The shipping charges you pay to IDW Limited do NOT include customs fees, import taxes, brokerage fees, or duties. If you refuse to pay the customs fees when your order arrives, the shipment will NOT be returned to IDW Limited. The courier will destroy the merchandise and we will be charged the customs fees. Therefore, we do not issue refunds for customs fees, shipping, or the cost of your order if you refuse to pay the customs fees.
IDW Limited has no way of estimating customs fees, taxes, duties, etc. so please do not ask us to do so – we don’t have this information. Please contact your local customs office if you need to know more.
It is possible that the delivery of your order could be delayed due to customs processing. If your order does not arrive in a reasonable amount of time, you should check with your local customs office to see if they are holding the package for payment of fees. Also, some customs offices will send a separate invoice for your customs fees that could arrive several weeks after you receive your shipment. Please be familiar with the customs laws in your country before you order!
WHY ISN’T MY COUNTRY IN YOUR LIST?
We have chosen not to ship to some countries for a variety of reasons (our carriers do not deliver there, we have products that cannot be easily shipped to these countries or we have had a high rate of fraudulent orders coming from these countries). We appreciate your interest in IDW Limited, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
